Most homes start with the internet provider's router or a mesh kit. Some come with a UniFi setup the last owner left behind. We plan one system around how your household uses the house, and you own it.

Whole-home Wi-Fi and network

A Ubiquiti UniFi network planned for your house: the gateway, the switches and the Wi-Fi access points. Coverage is planned around how your household actually uses the home.

  • Access points placed for the rooms you use, not just where the modem happens to sit.
  • Ethernet to the places that need a wired connection, like a home office or the TV.

What a typical home project looks like

Every house is different. This is the usual shape of it.

  1. Tell John what isn't working

    Dead spots, a camera that keeps dropping, or a setup nobody in the house understands. The more you share, the more useful the visit.

  2. Free site visit

    John walks the house: where the internet comes in, what equipment is there now, where the Wi-Fi is weak and where cable can run.

  3. Written plan and quote

    You get the plan, the equipment list and the price in writing. Nothing is installed until you approve it, and your equipment is ordered for your job after you do.

  4. Install and walk-through

    Access points, cable and cameras go in and are set up as one system. It's tested, labeled and documented, and John walks you through it at handoff.

  • Do you work on a setup someone else installed?

    Yes. John can look at an existing UniFi or mixed setup, including one that came with the house, and tell you what to keep, what to fix and what to replace.

  • Where does the equipment come from, and who owns it?

    J. Shea Technologies doesn't keep equipment in stock to sell. The equipment for your job is listed in your quote and ordered after you approve it, so you see exactly what you pay for. The finished system is yours to own and manage.

  • What does the site visit cost?

    Nothing. The site visit and the written quote are free, and nothing is installed until you approve it.

  • Can I manage it myself afterward?

    Yes. The finished system is yours to own and manage. John walks you through it at handoff, and remote help is there if you need it.

  • Do you come to my area?
